Shinn Master
Jack
Kids
Board
Master Jack is our Young
Guns board and is far from being an adult?s board shrunk in the wash. Boundless
enthusiasm and motivation demands a board that can be ridden fast and loose and
forgives errors in the rider?s technique. Jack is not a kid?s board but a
performance design created from the same high technology as all the Shinn range
and finished to the same unrivalled level of perfection. Stars of the future
need all the help possible to succeed and Master Jack is proof of our commitment
to them.
All Shinn twin tips are
supplied with our high visibility G10 fins and deck protection plates. Shaped
exclusively for us from G10 Epoxy (for unsurpassed durability), this 53mm shape
provides exceptional grip for it"s size whilst still offering great
manoeuvrability.
The connection between
rider and board can make or break the quality of your ride. Of course they
should look slick but only after the function is perfect. Our deep section
EVA cushioning ensures luxurious comfort even during the harshest landings,
whilst a carefully placed section of memory foam adjusts the surface to the
shape of your feet after only a couple of hours riding. Multi-position fixation
points allow you to fine tune your stance to perfection. The Shinn footstrap has
been shaped to provide maximum grip on your foot with minimal pressure points
and complete ease of adjustability. In the case of our Monokini and Master
Jack series this means re-shaping and re-sizing the strap to best fit the
riders feet.
What's inside your board
will make a huge difference to how it performs. There is a lot of talk about
flex but the mount of flex is just the tip of the iceberg, what"s more important
is where the board flexes and how fast it responds after that flex. Each Shinn
twin tip has a carefully engineered core that optimises these characteristics
and enhances them for the target rider. Core materials, glass layup and mould
shaping are all factors that help us in this area but the heart of every Shinn
twin tip is comprised 'mostly' of an Alabasia wood core. No other core material
offers the same blend of consistent flex over extended periods of time, feather
light weight and near indestructible durability (not to mention environmental
friendliness). We say mostly because there are some other secret materials in
there but we"re not going to give away all of our tricks!
To create a board for
the stars of the future we first looked at the rocker. Many small boards are
created using rockers designed for longer decks resulting in flat tips prone to
nose diving and tripping. Master Jack features a specific XS rocker meaning it
has full tip radius in proportion to it's reduced sizing. The outline also
presented challenges due to the relatively small tip and tail surface areas. We
maintained a straighter outline through the central section to give the speed
and grip that younger riders enjoy however increased the curve radius in the
tips to provide extra forgiveness should enthusiasm levels exceed the handling
skills of the rider! As with all Shinn boards, Master Jack features a central
concave washing out to flat areas in the tips to provide both earlier planning
and extra flex
control.
